Reiki is a Japanese technique for relaxation and stress reduction. Reiki is a simple, natural, and effective form of energy work that facilitates relaxation, stress reduction, and feelings of well-being that can benefit everyone. It can be used along with all other forms of treatment and often helps relieve side effects and promotes recovery
All sessions are conducted at a private residence located in Scottsdale, AZ, which is a beautiful, warm and welcoming place for healing of all kinds. When you book, you’ll receive an email confirmation & it will include the address and other pertinent information for easy reference. It is recommended that you dress comfortably, as you will be lying down on a massage table the entire time (if you cannot lie down for whatever reason, please make sure you check the box on your intake form so that a chair can be provided). All one hour+ in-person Reiki sessions include a full Aura Cleansing. At the end, illumiYogi will discuss her work and can answer any additional questions you may have.
All sessions are conducted through Zoom - you will get your official link in your booking email. Just find a comfortable, quiet place to lie down, set an intention if you'd like, and then simply close your eyes, relax & enjoy your healing. For pets, place them in a comfortable spot where they can relax - some may even fall asleep during treatment. You are free to stay with your pet throughout the entire session. Sometimes pets can be fussy, especially if they’re experiencing pain or anxiety. If your pet is having trouble sitting still and relaxing during a session, that is completely okay - they’re still receiving the full healing treatment.

That depends on your individual situation and needs. Every person is different. It’s likely for you to feel some improvement after just one session, but you may benefit even more when you have multiple sessions (I know that I do). For first-timers, I usually suggest three sessions about a week apart to start (that’s why I offer a special three-session package). If you’re complementing medical treatment for physical or mental health with Reiki, then it makes sense for you to have Reiki sessions periodically throughout your treatment.
You should find yourself either very relaxed and feeling “lighter” or feeling re-energized. Allow yourself a few minutes to come fully back into your awareness. You may feel so relaxed that you are spaced-out. Whatever it is that you need, is what you will experience.
Be sure to drink lots of water as Reiki is very detoxifying. You should sleep very well.
It is not unusual for people to experience a mild natural detoxification as the body adjusts itself to the energy shift. It is recommended that you drink some extra water and/or herbal tea so that the toxins are flushed out more readily. You may want to rest more, so allow time for that. Doing some simple stretching exercises will help you feel grounded.
Most people feel an immediate improvement in their level of pain and energy. An overall feeling of well being may be experienced.
